The water resistance of the ink is measured using the Test Procedure set by Printing Images CtC, Inc.. The reading is taken as "Original/Before" and "Dipped/After".

Reading in relation to time, is being measured by a reflection densitometer. The reading is then easily determined with an equation. Like many other tests, the type of media is also a factor affecting the water resistance of an ink.
