Specially formulated for use in wide format markets using Plotters as
the output device. Usually popular in the field of advertisements and other
graphic arts applications, where 100% water resistance and medium range
exposure to sunlight is of great importance.

Heat Resistance of Colorants:
Heat stability was tested on vinyl films containing dyes evaluated for
maximum heat ranging from 212 to 360 degrees Fahrenheit heat stability
at 25 parts colorant and 75 parts liquid solution.
Ultra Violet Rays / Light Stability:
Light or UV stability was tested using the Carbon Arc Fade-O-Meter exposures'
hour to first break. First break refers to the point of first noticeable
color change. Samples are 25 parts colorant to 75 parts liquid solution
printed on a vinyl film. The Black, Yellow, Cyan and Magenta showed
an incredible UV resistance from 255 to 350 hours exposure. Equivalents
in exposure to sunlight was at least four (4) to six (6) months exposure
to sunlight. Like other fastness properties, light stability or UV
resistance depends and is affected by; type of binder, film / paper thickness,
concentration of colorant, reflectivity of substrate, spectral distribution
of light source, temperature and humidity
Water Resistance:
The water resistance was tested on vinyl films printed with the ink
made according to the formulation and was submerged into the water batch
for a period of time. Loss or gain is evaluated directly as the water resistance
property using a reflectance density meter. The IQ Durable Oil Based
inkjet ink has a 100% water resistance.
